These educational summer day camp opportunities, hosted by the University of Tennessee Knoxville, are for kids in grade 3-12. Topics include animals, computers, careers, discovery, sports, leadership, nature, photography, science, cooking, and more!
For kids, Knox County Parks and Rec offers a variety of hands-on educational classes for both kids and adults. The department also offers a variety of sports leagues including, football, soccer, basketball, and baseball. Parks and Rec also offers summer camps and maintains local playgrounds, which offer pavilion rentals for birthday parties.
This full rock climbing gym offers a variety of climbing experiences to meet the needs of all age and ability levels. The facility is also handicap accessible. Throughout the summer the facility offers a variety of overnight summer camp opportunities for kids from age 9-17. For kids ages 4-9, Tremont even hosts a parent-and-me overnight experience!
In addition to an outstanding educational program, this academy offers themed 4 day summer day camps. Themes include cooking, soccer, lacrosse, and football. Each camp is 4 days long. Age requirements vary by theme, but camps are available for grades k – 8.

Mary Helen studio is an Ohio based company. This branch of their fashion camp is held at Twig Children’s Boutique, in Knoxville. The camp allows campers in grades 2-9 to design and sew fabulous clothes.

The children’s museum features a variety of educational classes and hands-on exhibits. Exhibits include a rain forest room, model trains, waterworks, a bird room, doll house, historical toys, nature room, Native American history and much more! The museum also has a birthday party room that can be rented for private events.
In addition to daily educational fun and birthday parties, the museum offers STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) based spring and summer day camps. The camps allow kids to experience hands-on learning in a variety of themes.
General Zoo Information – This fun family-friendly zoo features a variety of amazing animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, gorillas, and much more! Educational programs take place at varying times throughout the day. If you are brave enough, you can even feed the giraffes. There is a splash pad on-site for the kiddos and the the entire zoo is stroller accessible.
Zoo Camp – In the summer, the zoo offers week long day camps that focus on animal education and give kids a behind the scenes look at zoo life!
