This week for our Mom Explores Book Club, we read “Henry’s Awful Mistake“, by Robert M. Quackenbush . In this delightful story, a duck named Henry is cooking dinner when all of a sudden he spots an ant crawling around his kitchen. Henry vows to catch the ant and tears his kitchen apart in the process.
To find out about all of Henry’s crazy shenanigans, view the story here. After reading the story, enjoy this fun Ant Crazy Letter Identification Game . The game teaches preschoolers to recognize both upper and lower case letters.

Cut out all of the cards. Put all of the cards into a bag or basket and mix them up.
Without looking, take turns picking up 1 card at a time and reading the letter on the card.
If you are lucky enough to find Henry’s ant, instead of a letter, you win the game! After finding the ant, place all of the cards back into the basket. Then, mix them up and play another round.
