For kids, Knox County Parks and Rec offers a variety of hands-on educational classes for both kids and adults. The department also offers a variety of sports leagues including, football, soccer, basketball, and baseball. Parks and Rec also offers summer camps and maintains local playgrounds, which offer pavilion rentals for birthday parties.
At this year-round monthly event, you can enjoy the late-night openings of local shops and art galleries. While your out, you can also delight in local street performances and/or grab some grub from one of downtown Knoxville’s many tasty restaurants.
These fun STEM camps are geared towards kids in grades K – 6th. The camps are hosted by a variety of elementary schools throughout the local area and each camp last 1 week. These camps incorporate science, technology, engineering and math through fun, hands-on, group activities. Locations include Knoxville, Maryville, and Oak Ridge
Serving children 18 months and up, these awesome yoga classes and camps are offered at a variety of locations around Knoxville. Through yoga, Blooming Youth helps kids learn the basic principles of mindfulness including expression, awareness, and peace. Blooming Youth also offers early childhood education classes for infants through age 8, and baby sign language classes.
This education based day camp believes in hands-on, interest-lead learning experiences. The camps take place at various facilities throughout Knox County. Each week incorporates a fun theme and an optional off-site field trip related to the theme.
