This happy craft is great for little learners who are developing fine motor skills (controlled finger movements). It is made from simple materials you probably already have around your house and makes a great decoration for your big tree. This fantastic mini-tree will also look great hanging in your window.
Materials:
- green crayon
- sheet of cardboard
- scissors
- liquid glue (Tacky or school)
- green yarn or ribbon
- color paper
- hole punch
Steps:
- Use the crayon to draw a triangle on the the cardboard sheet. Cut it out.
- Punch a hole toward the top of your tree. Insert a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie to form a loop.
- If desired, color the face of the triangle green. This will make any gaps in your yarn wrap less visible.
- Spread a thing layer of glue over the face of the triangle.
- Starting at the bottom of the tree, begin wrapping the yarn around the tree.
- Continue wrapping until the whole tree is covered.
- Wrap the ends around the back of the tree and secure with a dot of glue.
- Use the hole punch and colored paper to make ornaments for the tree. Use dots of glue to secure the ornaments.
- Cut a star out of yellow or orange paper and glue at the top of the tree
- Display your work for all to enjoy!
